Default New Car, various questions: Radio, obd, etc.

Just picked up my new Volvo. '98 V70 w/ 205,000 miles, 5-speed transmission.

It's a nice, fairly clean car and I'm looking forward to driving it. That said, I've got a question or two.

The PO replaced the battery in the car and didn't have the radio code, so they locked themselves out of the radio. Radio says "off," so I pulled it out of the car to reset. How long does it take to reset usually? Can anyone here get me the radio code?

Secondly, the battery that the PO put in is waaaaaaaay too small. The battery is tiny, and is totally incapable of properly running the car. Car just threw a CEL on me, and my guess is that the battery caused it. Is this possible?

Finally, I accidentally left my OBDII reader in a car I was test driving two weeks ago. Is there computer software that will led me read codes with my USB to OBD cable I bought for a Volkswagon? It came with VAGCOM software, but the won't do me any good on a Volvo.

Default Nty '98

Hello, I've read on posts that the radio code is available from a dealer. Proof of ownership is always said to be required. Do yourself a favor. Put the code on a label and affix it to the glovebox door.
I've read posts about weak batteries causing codes. If the battery was that small-perhaps an odd one lying about-you should think of other shortcuts the PO may have taken.
A while back I searched laptop installed programs. Several included the functions of an OBDII reader. Many were toys. Many were incompatible with Volvos. Sorry, my data is old on this one. Kira
