Default New CEL Code - To me anyway

My 98 V70R has always thrown a P0410 AIR pump code. I've not yet had the time to fix the pump, valve and relay (or the money). Well, it must have gotten bored of throwing the same old code, so today it threw a new one, a P0422 (I think, hard to read). Anyway, the code it threw is, for "Evaporative Control System - small leak". I've already loosened and re-tightened the gas cap. I may have gotten the code number wrong here, but not the description of the problem. Where do I begin looking for breaks in the evap system? Any likely spots to check first? No relation to the still occuring P0410 code right? At 130K miles is there anything I should be replacing on the evap system as a matter of course?
Any advice greatly appreciated.

The Evap Valve might be dirty.
The evap Valve is located on the cooling fan it has 2 hoses going to it. Then check all the hoses going back to the tank for cracks.

What's the EVAP valve? Is that the purge thing on the underhood decal? Where's the charcoal canister for the fumes? Are "smoke" machines any use in finding these kinds of problems? Car STILL won't pass inspection since the EVAP code constantly shows as pending prior to actually triggering the light. I jst got nothice from the state that the registration has been suspended due to lack of inspection. I'm loosing patience with this car. Very close to trading it in on a new Mazda3 or 6,a damn kia or even a used daewoo for crying out loud :-(

They call it many things it might be the Purge valve from on the sticker. Like I said it is located on the cooling Fan assembly. When you open the hood stand and look down towards the right side of the fan (your right side). Like where the fresh air tube comes in and goes to the Air box.

The Canister will be in One of 3 places. 1. Up by the front of the car on the side of the subframe like next to the Air pump. 2. Under the car Near the Fuel filter like under the Passenger rear seat. 3. In the middle of the car near the Gas tank.

A smoke machine might work very well. I made my own tool for looking for leaks. It is a regulator and compressed air.

P.S. DONT BUY A DAEWOO
