Default New size rim for a 2004 V70 AWD

Hey there,

I'm wondering if anyone has had any success moving from a 17" rim to a 16" on a V70 AWD. I've gotten some conflicting information about what it would do to the speedometer, calibration, etc., but at $220 a pop for each 17" all season tire, I'm looking to go for a more mainstream size.

Also, the AWD model has a slightly raised back end, and am wondering if the suspension can at all be lowered, for nothing more than cosmetics.

Any ideas on either?

Thanks,
MN Guy

I am not sure on how big those calipars are, but I would assume that you could get 16" on there.
It depends on how much of a change you make, for it to affect the speedo.
If you keep the same tire profile and down size the wheel, that will drop the car.
If you want to drop the car, well I suggest sport (lowering) springs. They will give you about 1.5" drop all around.

I'm running 16" steelies on my 2002 V70 for the winter. They fit fine as long as it's not an R.

BTW...
I run 235/45-17" in the summer and 215/55-16" in the winter.

With the AWD the only stipulation is that they are all the same size and matching tires. A must for the DSTC to function correctly.

Where in MN?
