Hi All, I am hoping you can help with an issue I'm having with my 04 V70 wagon; It seems to be the transmission, very hard shifting, it seems to be intermittent but it's getting worse. Sometimes the engine will rev quite high and finally catch giving me whiplash and throwing the dog against the rear window. I have changed the fluid, replaced the engine mounts and I have heard changing the solenoid can fix this. Does anyone have experience with this?

I'm new to the Volvo forum so if I need to provide more info for a reasonable answer please let me know,

Thanks

Hi and welcome to the forum.

I suggest you take the car into a Volvo dealer to have them check it out. There is a chance that you have a software issue.

Thanks RSPI, even though I have a strong dislike for my local Volvo dealer I will see if they have the ability to check/update the software- I'll post what I come up with.

Trade your '04 for a '98 or older. Then buy several parts cars. (Just kidding, but it's what I've done...except for owning/trading an '04)

Thanks VT, but I'm already doing that with a BMW e9 :-). This is my wife's car (the Volvo) and she loves it... and it's paid for, which means I love it, so I'm going to venture into the dark cave that is the Volvo dealer, I'll post the results and hopefully my "mission" will help others.

Cheers,
