Old Question RE: ATF Fluid
I have a 1999 V70 XC Awd Turbo. I am going to replace the ATF with Mobile 3309 is this the right fluid or Dexron III? So many posts on this but no mention of my vehicle. Have you heard much of adding Lubeguard as well? My gear shifter is as follows P, R, N, D, 3, L

Looks like your transmission is a 4-speed w/ overdrive. That one can run on Dexron III.
If you had the 5-speed you would need Mobil 3309, Amsoil Universal ATF, Volvo's overpriced version, or at the very least a good quality synthetic ATF.
Anything is going to be better than not changing the fluid, though. Volvo recommends never changing the ATF for some stupid reason.
