New member with V70 problem
My wife just called and said her 01 V70 T5 was lurching/popping over 3K rpms.
She noticed it when somone started into her lane on the interstate and she had to accelerate to keep from getting sideswiped.
Now it "lurches" when she tries to go over 3K rpm.
I'm working clear across the country, there is no dealer withing two hours of my house.
Any ideas?

Has the check engine light come on? I would start by pulling codes and see if anything there gives an indication what might be happening. Maybe a coil pack is going bad...just a guess though.

I would try pulling codes and go from there.

Mine did that when the fuel pump was dying. It never completely died, just put out low pressure, so could not get any speed.

 

No CEL and no codes. It is running fine now.
Hope it is not the fuel pump as I have put too much money in this car in the last year now.

 

PLUGS! if they have not been changed that you know of, change them. if that doesn't correct it, find the cyl that is missing and change the coil pack. (then save up to replace them all).

 

Plugs have less than 10K on them. Car is running fine now, I will go over it when I get a chance.
