Default rear side windows - heated?

I recently became the owner of a 2002 v70 (my first Volvo). One odd thing about the car which I cant find any mention of in the manual is that the left side rear cargo area window has elements that look like defroster elements, while the same window on the right side has none. And theres no evidence that the left side window is in fact heated when the rear defroster is turned on. Wondering if anyone can explain this to me, what am i missing here. Thanks

Default I thought the same thing

Hello, It's the radio antenna. How many miles on your "NTY" V70? Good luck with it. I have a 2002 too. DO NOT neglect your transmission fluid. Search on the subjects of: battery disconnection and reconnection. If it's an AWD research "bevel gear". Maintain your car and it'll serve you well. I love my V70 and the boards really help keep the costs down. Don't get lazy. Keep reading. Kira

They kept it balanced on the 98-00 models with antennas lines in both of those windows. I assume one is FM and the other is AM.

Kira, You mention not to neglect the trans fluid but the Volvo manual says it never needs changing? I own a 2002 V70 2.5, also my second Volvo!

Default Old tune

Hello, Deep thinkers on these boards have said that Volvo states never to change the fluid because it lowers the overall costs of maintenance reported in car magazines etc. Others claim that it's a ploy to get people back to the dealership for a new car. All I can tell you is that transmission fluid gets real dirty, looses it's lubricating properties and it's ability to clean. Truly everyone on these boards claims some tangible improvement in shifting when their fluid is refreshed. That includes me. Every fluid in every application gets old and contaminated. It makes no sense to exempt transmission. Go over to the brickboard and search "transmission fluid change". It's your relatively delicate assembly of pistons, valves and friction plates we're talking about here. If you want to pump black, gritty acid-contaminated mud through it, go right ahead. Oh, did I tell you? When the previous owner of my car had shifting hiccoughs the dealership changed his transmission fluid. Good luck. Kira
