hey,

i've seen some pics of people's cars who have painted the chrome vertical lines on their front grilles either dark gray or something similar and i think it looks really good, and am thinking about doing it myself. so getting the grille off the hood is easy, but removing the volvo emblem/diagonal chrome bar looks hard, like its push-riveted on or something? is it possible to remove it from the grille without breaking anything? lol any info much appreciated.

 

The slash is held on by several push pin fasteners. Simply use a pick tool or a very tiny flathead screwdriver and pry up on a single inside tab of the push pin. Continue around the fastener with the tabs bent almost straight up. Flatten the pin and you can reuse it when you reapply the slash to the painted grill. No reason to break anything if you are patient. Good luck, MK.
