Replace XModex or take to Dealer ??
We went with xModex 300 miles ago. Today, the ETS came on and a 'no start' for a few minutes. Started finally. Taking back to our independent mechanic (non-Volvo). We don't fault him. Thinking we'll now have it towed to Volvo dealer (132 miles) and go with their replacement until we can sell or trade in. XModex has lifetime warranty, so will ask for money back at least on the part.
Does the Dealer use a re-furbished ETmodule?

our 99 GLT has been at the mechanics for 3 days now; they are trying to get it to not start so they can get a code. Right now it's running fine. We can't call the mfg. because we don't show any code as failing.

I'll ask the mechanic about this possiblity. Why does this make so much sense? We left the car with the mechanic for 4 days but the EMT did not fail. There were no Fail Codes. Wouldn't the CPS show a code if it was failing?
