Sorry for the newb question, I tried searching "memory seats", "seat memory" but haven't found what I am looking for. Anyway I bought a used V70 (2002) and tried to program the driver seat but have been unsuccessful so far. I have tried holding the "MEM" button and depressing a number button and I have tried holding a number button and depressing the "MEM" button. Niether has worked, can anyone give a hint as to how to do this? TIA

 

You are doing it right based on the 850 and 98 V70. Get the seat where you want it, press and hold the Mem button and then press the number you want to set. Try pressing and holding both buttons at the same time. See if you have a lose wire or something behind the switch.

 

In my 01, you press and hold the MEM button and then the number button you want to program.

 

As I recall the procedure for my 2005MY V70, for the memory to be set, the engine must be running when you press the MEM and selection buttons.
