Default Serpentine Belt

Want to change Serpentine Belt on my 1998 V70 GLT. I do not see anywhere on the belt tensioner for a 3/8 drive rachet of bolt to grab on to. Is there a special tool or way grab hold of the tensioner? Any recommendations.

There is supposed to be a special tool. The square in the tensioner is actually a 3/4 drive hole.
Some times you can use a 1/2 to 3/4 adapter with a ratchet. Sometimes you have to lock visegrips on the adapter and then turn it.

Thanks. I don't have a 3/4 ratchet, but I can get a 1/2 x 3/4 adaptor

I tried the 1/2 X 3/4 adapter on my 98 V70 but it did not fit between the tensioner and the engine bay. I ended up using the 1/2 drive breaker bar with a piece of sheetmetal, folded over - to make it thicker and then wedged in to take up the extra space in the tensioner square. I have kept that piece of metal and use it everytime I have to change a belt. This may be an option for you.

Default 3/4" stock

Hello, I got an 1.25" long piece of 3/4" stock. Turn it with any wrench. Kira

I ended up molding some sheet type metal around my 1/2" drive and it worked just fine.
