We are ready to buy it with 96,000 miles and let go of our 96 850 GLT with 148,000. We are mostly wanting the 3rd seat and want something newer.

My mechanic just went crazy and said the one we want to get is horrible. Please tell me your experience. Thank you.

 

Does the newer car have the service and maintenance records from the previous owners? sounds like a nice car, but so does the 850. i don't know enough about the years - IE what's good vs what's bad (is 01 when the p2 or whatever the second generation is) debuted? Did the mechanic give you any reasons why the XC is horrible & how much do you value his opinion? You could also get a second opinion
