So I go out to the car and...
I hear a fan running outside the car then I get inside and air is blowing through the vents, all of this with the car off. Is that normal? It's happened a couple of times now and my wife thinks it just the car cooling itself off! Maybe it's just working right but it's kinda weird getting in a car that's turned off and the fan is blowing air like it's turned on.
Is this just a Volvo thing?

Did it turn off by itself?
They have what is called an Afterblow function. It comes on about 15-20 minutes after car is shut of when the A/C was used.
It is like that to help Dry the evaperator. That prolongs the life of it and helps keep Mildew out of it.

Ok sorry yes the outside one will make sure the car is cool.
If it was driven about 10 minutes earlier than it could have come on from that.
Most of the time after driving and turning it off the temp will raise a little from the coolant not moving anymore. That will kick the fan on to cool it off.
