Default Strange readings from OBD2

Hi all

Met up with a friend of mine today that has the OBD2 cable and some fancy software on his laptop. So we hooked it up and went for a ride. The strange thing is that everything seems fine other than the fact that the software showed no activity for the main O2 sensor (1st one) although the car seems to drive fine. How would the car act/react if the O2 sensor was dead? or could it simply be a case of the software not registering the sensor, which would be strange because it actually does see the second sensor. Software showed no error codes other than the normal CAT error

Also, the software showed that the intake temp was 52 Degrees, and even though it was quite hot today (about 32 Deg), my friends says his is never that high (he drives a S70 T5). What is sort of the norm? shouldn't it be more or less the ambient temp?

Cheers.

Any check engine light?
Go check it at a local parts store, for they should give you free OBD2 scans.
The O2 sensor basically reads the exhaust gases and sends the signals to the ECU which then adjusts the A/F ratio.
I would change it ASAP.

If the O2 was dead the car would run wacky.
I would say it was in the software.
