Every car I've owned with a sunroof had a little wind deflector that popped up when you opened the sunroof. My 01 V70 2.4T doesn't have this. Is it supposed to and it's just missing? I can't have the sunroof open if I'm going above 35-40 because it buffets too much.

 

Mine does it too..I justturn the radio up louder...BUT you can purchase the sporty wind defelctor from a parts place...it mounts on the outside and keeps some rain out.......

 

Yes, the '01 V70 sunroof has a pop-up wind deflector. If yours is missing , check a salvage yard - the dealer will want $220 or more for it (part 30716846).

 

I have an 01 V70 T5 and there is NO POP UP WIND DEFLECTOR. I didn't think I had one so I just went and opened it in the garage. Is the Pop-Up and option?

You guys sure you dont have one? Could it just not be popping up?

 

Sorry Sam, but I did climb up on the door seal to look better (and check the drain holes while I was there), and there was no mechanism to be seen. All I can guess is they don't have it, or perhaps it was an option. I have used mine very little because of the buffeting.

I checked mine out and there was absolutely no wind deflector. Didn't even look like there was a place to mount one or anything. It's a little strange.

 

I just checked mine again and there is NOTHING! What year is the schematic for? Mine is a 2001 V70 T5a. Hopefully I can attach a picture that shows the fron of the sun roof. I did note several threaded holes that seem to have no purpose. Perhaps these are where the deflector would mount? Mysteries...........

Hopefully I can find one at a junkyard here. Funny, my car is the exact same color as the one in the picture there. I'm guessing it broke and they just took it out and tossed it?

 

Perhaps someone did remove it, but I'm the original owner of my 2001 V70 T5a and it does not have one (I posted the picture). What a mystery!!!
