Default TECH INFO 98 v70 xc awd

Bought the 98 v70 xc awd as a daily driver for me. Has 160k so hopefully just broke in and not brok-en.

I'm no mechanic, just know enough to know how little i know. So here's the question(s). Both front axle boots are badly torn, and have had recommendations that they be replaced. Would you agree?

If so, what price range should that job be? And does this dirty axle problem directly effect the driveshaftshould that be replaced at same time?

Thnx

The front axles are seperate from the driveshaft.
If they are really bad and dry I would buy a new set of aftermarket axles.
