throaty idle
I just bought a 2005 v70 with 18k miles on it. When I test drove it at the dealer, it seemed to have a rough idle. I had driven a friend's 2003 v70 before and had also noticed the same thing, so I figure maybe it is just a characteristic of volvo v70(?). Anyway, I liked everything else about the car, so I bought it-- but now I am having second thoughts. When the car idles, it has a very low-frequency sound, almost like a (subtle but noticeable) vibration to it. Sometimes when I accelerate on the highway it shakes/quivers momentarily.
I can still return the vehicle within 5 days. Should I? Is this a characteristic thing for v70's (e.g. common complaint/problem or maybe just a common benign characteristic?). Should I return the vehicle? Is it worth bringing it to the dealer (still under Volvo warranty) to see what's wrong first (I still have to pay the minimal service fee)? The car was sold at a fair price, and I prefer to keep it if there is not anything majorly wrong with it.
Thanks for any insight..
