Default ticking relay

Group,

I have found my V70 with the battery dead on a couple of occasions. After a short investigation, here's what's happening.

After I turned the engine off and lock the doors, 30 seconds later, a relay "click" once behind the dash near the steering wheel and then, a relay ( or something that sounds like one) "click" in each front door. The clicking goes on like a bomb until the battery dies!

I replaced the battery ( the dealer suggested to!) and it didn't fix anything.

Any hint?

thanks in advance.

You might have a bad relay under the dash or a bad door module.

Close the latch to let the car think the door is closed and try to trace down the relay that is clicking.

The relay under the dash clicks only once while both front doors start clicking endlessly like a bomb!

Thank you for you replies

If you can find the exact relay swap it with another one and see if it still does it.

The problem is still there and it's ticking me off!

This is what I found so far:

if I pull either the left or right door module fuse (no 34 and 35), the ticking continues in both doors. If I pull the door modules fuse (no 27), the ticking stops.

As for now, my best solution is to pull fuse no 27. I'm shopping for an OBD2 unit to get the codes and fix this once for all!

I still think it is a bad door module.
