Hello,

I am trying to replace tires on my 2001 V70 2.4T which currently running 205/55 R16

I want to go to 215/55 R16, but I can't seem to find anything online regarding width of stock 16" wheel and if it will be fine on the stock 16" rims that come with V70 2.4T

Is it safe to put a bit wider tire on these stock 16" rims?

You will probably be OK. That is not much larger. You would only run into a problem if your wheels were narrow (6.5" or less) If they are 7" - 7.5" then the little bit wider tire should not hurt. You might get some slight rubbing on full lock turns, but I doubt it.

 

I run 215 55 16, a little rubbing on full lock but nothing major.

Stock 16" wheels on your V70 are 6 1/2" wide; information found when I was looking for winter wheels.

 

Do you think it is safe to put a slightly wider tire at 215/55 R16 on 6.5" wide wheel?
Another member above mentioned that it is working pretty good on his car.
