Default Transaxle question

I have a question about the transaxle in my 2000 v70. Three times in the past month I have noticed a downshift when going around a corner and when I go to accelerate I get an engine rev and then the trans catches. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas. We are going to bring the beastie in to the dealer soon. I just want to be armed with some ideas before I go in. I trust Volvo of Libertyville as far as I can throw them. Thanks.

Make sure the trans fluid is full and clean looking. These transmission like to be full exactly to the full mark for hot when hot.

Thanks for getting back to me. It is full. I checked it yesterday after the latest little rev. It has 60 thousand on it right now. I was wondering if it was time for a change. It was darker than the fluid in my new car. I wasn't sure if this was a brand difference or age. It looks like blood with water added to it. I know the stuff in the new car is pinkish. I have heard some conflicting things about changing trans fluid in Volvo's. Can I go to a lube shop and have it siphoned by machine? Does it take the real stuff or synthetic? Thanks again.

I forget if it gets synthetic or regular.

Some people like to have it flushed and some like to drain and refill.

You might also want to check with the Dealer for a software upgrade.
