Default Transmission Drama.

OK, So I have a 2003 2.4T V70 with 86,000 miles that is plauged with the usual tranny problems for the G2's. The symptoms started a few thousand ago and started getting worse. Hard bump on downshift. We brought it to the Dealer and they performed the TCM upgrade software and Adaptive drive to erase shift points. The upgrade did lessen the problem but did not fix it. I drove the car to work the other day and had more issues- on acceleration the rpms would climb to redline around 6,500 rpm and then shift hard. OR the rpms would keep climbing untill I let off the throttle and then It would shift hard. Also same clunk on downshifts. And when I put my foot into it I get a two or three second lagg before the car accellerates. Called the dealer and car is going back in. So here is my question=

I have 15,000 miles left on a extended warrenty I purchased when I bought the car. How far should I push the issue? The volvo techs have been helpfull and are nice guys, The service manager has to prove to someone from the warrenty company that the tranny has problems. Can these trannys realy be fixed to give a decent amount of service life with a B4 servo cover and or a new Valve body? Should I realy push for them to replace the trans? would a replacment be any better than whats in there?- I mean with updated parts that are not prone to failer. Thanks, I will update how the progress goes.
