Default idle drama's

Hi Guys, wife stuck in traffic the other day, when she arrived home
car would have trouble maintaning idle, want's to cut out, upon
inspection i noticed that there is a little valve? or something?attatched to the side of the air box, that valve? is making a buzzing sound on and off,
i am quite confused, i'm thinking maybe pcv system needs a clean or throttle body needs software update.. but the buzzing valve ?? attatched to the airbox has made me think it may be something else.
**UPDATE**
Just went for a drive, engine surge on slowing down, idle does not want to settle down, surges up to 1300-2000rpm also ,sound like air pump working after car is turned off....

Thanks

Are you talking about the Boost control valve on the side of the air box?
It has 3 hoses going to it and an electrical plug?

Tech,
Yes i thought i was the boost control valve, after checking with
Vadis it is, but also the air pump seems to come on when it should
not, i thought that the air pump should only come on in the morning for about 1-2 minutes to warm the car up, the air pump seem to be staying on, after i pull up stop the car i can hear the air pump for about 20 seconds, is the relay located in the fuse box? could that be
the problem? car still runs fine turbo seems to boost well. (maybe not as good as YOUR 850 T-5R) LOL...
thanks

Some of the cars the relay is under the car by the air pump.
Others are under the hood in the fuse panel.

If yours is under the car the relay might have water in it and be shorting out keeping the air pump running when the car is on.

Right now I am not really happy with the T5-R.
I need to do some stuff to it.
The wifes car is faster than mine is right now.
I need to catch up to hers.
I estimate hers to be at about 250 to 260 HP mine is only 240 HP.

Tech, still 240hp much better than my 190hp....
looked at both fuse box's, one relay seemed to de dis-placed i corrected it, i also checked the one in the rear wagon there was also one dis-placed there i pushed it back in also, started it up no air pump going, idle smoothed out, surging stopped...
Hard to believe that could have been the problem, what do you think?
I'm taking the kids to see the Simpson's movie now, it's about a 25km round trip i'll let you know how the car goes....
thanks

Mine has just started to do this, esp' when driving at 100-120 (kph). It's like you are driving into a headwind and when you pull up the engine won't idle. Gone up to the dealer to get a 100k service done and a few other things.
