The cooler hoses have metal wrap-style clamps that hold the o-ring sealed hose ends into the radiator. Find the ends of the clamp and gently spread the metal clamp to slide it up the hose.

R&R the radiator: Disconnect wires and hoses so you can remove the fan/shroud assembly. There are 2 screws at the top of the shroud that hold it against the back of the fascia. Once the screws are removed and the wires are free, you can lift the shroud straight up.

The radiator is held in place with 2 bolts on each end of the radiator, about halfway up the outside of the end tanks. You have to access them from below. They thread into threaded "heads" that aren't well secured. If the bolts are rusty in the threads, you may end up breaking them free. Then you must hold them with visegrips from the top while you're wrenching from the bottom. If your unluckiness runs out, the bolt will snap and end this torture. The radiator can be removed from the top because at this point the shroud/fan is out.

It sounds worse than it is. Volvo does a fairly good job with fastener access.
