V70 Battery light on
Hello All
STARTED my 2004 v70 after being away for a week, and it STARTED right up, but the battery light was on, along with EL. POWERSYSTEM SERVICE REQUIRED
I popped open the hood to see a mouse staring at me from the drivers side door and fender.
As IO had mentioned car starts right up and battery voltage is 12.5VDC
The previous owner had told me when purchasing the car, that he has had 2 wiring harnesses replaced over the years. Is there a reset procedure for this fault, or can I assume that this SOB has been dining on my wiring harness

what is the battery voltage with the engine running? Not sure what you mean by a reset procedure but to clear the warnng message you need to use an OBD2 code scanner to view/clear the underlying stored fault code.
In terms of fault finding, what I'd do is first measure battery voltage with the engine running, then add a load (headlights, rear defroster, blower etc) and see if he voltage remains acceptable. Next I'd measure the resistance of the cabling from the alternator to the battery. Finally, I'd measure the voltage out of the voltage regulator/alternator
