Default V70 Fuel Filter

Hey everyone. I have a 2004 Volvo V70 and I am trying to change the fuel filter and I looked everywhere and I can't find it. I was told it is on the passenger side by the rear axle but I didn't find it???

That's where mine was on my 01 V70 T5. If you have the replacement you should be able to easily recognize it. Extreamly easy to change. BTW I changed mine at 90K miles, and then cut it open to see how bad it was. There was no contamination visible to my eye. That's not to say how your's would be, as I don't know where you get your gas. I use only Chevron. With the new plastic tanks the build up of junk in the tank has been significantly reduced.

I called the dealership and they told me that the fuel filter is by the gas tank by the rear axle. I had my buddy take a look, who has been a mechanic for a few years now, and he couldn't even find it!?!?

You did not post the exact model you are looking for, but in looking up a fuel filter for a V70 2004, I got a part that looks very similar to mine, but did note it was for 2001 and up where my model was a 2001. Since it had such a similar look, I don't buy into the "in gas tank" theory. Take a look at this link and perhaps it will help you find what you are looking for.

If you have an aluminum tank then you do not have an external fuel filter.
They put them in the tank(Crappy design they only used for 1 to 2 years.

Hi,I just recently replaced mine, it's located at the rear (just in front of the rear wheel) behind the passengers seat.Just push the two brackets clips inside on the tube clip and pull the tube from it with a little bit of force, please put a pan underneath it to avoid gasoline spillage. The filter will cost you approx $29.Good LuckAlltwin
