Hi there new member here, thought id better introduce myself before i call on your problem solving skills. I myself dont own a Volvo but I do drive Swedish ive got a C900 T16 Saab. My dad has a V70 and had a 740 for about 10 years before it.

Now onto the problem we were driving back from Perth today when the brakes started making a stange noise. Every time the pedal was depressed the was a sound of similar to that of a compressed air leak. The car had been serviced last month and all the main areas had been checked over, the noise was coming from inside the cabin and wasnt audible from outside.

Any thoughts or ideas would be appriciated.

Most likely the brake booster is bad.When you hit the brakes the Vaccum from the booster is getting releassed inside the car.The booster will need to be replaced.

 

Thanks for the headsup, ill get him to have a look at it. Drove the V70 for the first time today alot different to the Saab but a good ride. Nice and comfy with a bit of grunt under the bonnet.

 

Yes they have some grunt under the hood.And drives very well.

just an update on the V70, we got it over to the dealer and they checked out the brake system, seems there are a few problems, the brake booster is indeed bad aswell as the servo system? (dont know if i got the servo system name right).

Thanks for the help, always good to go into these places with an idea of the problem. To be honest the dealer have been great. There booked solid for the next two weeks but will do the work today because its the brakes and my dad had it serviced in jan.
