hi guys just joined,im after a bit of info im due to get my first v70 this wkend cant wait! but i have a choice of 2!


1st being a 2000 2.3t5 se
2nd being 2000 2.4 (140)se

just wondering which would be the better engine is there much difference in the two apart from one being a turbo?

both will be autos too
any info would be great

 

Hello, Where do you come by a choice of two V70's? Are these private sales or a lot? There's a lot to consider here. How many miles on these cars? Are there any maintenance records? NOOOOO (just a guess). What do you need the car for? Daily driver?..get the low hp, regular gas drinking non-turbo. Zoom-Zoom?...get the T5. T5 drinks premium gas. T5 might have low profile tires. Those little darlings cost lots and wear quickly. Neither is AWD-and that's good for this vintage. Don't fear the ETM going out on you as there's an aftermarket rebuild which cures that ill-for ~$600. Both will have the very good 4-speed transmission. Check the fluid. Take any Volvo to a dealer to check it's inwards with their computer. Don't lose sight of the fact that you're looking at 12 year old cars. A real rat could remove any light bulb from a warning system (SRS light or CEL). Don't lose sight of the fact that you're looking at 12 year old cars. Kira
