Default V70 MY2000 Battery drain

Hi, hope someone can help. Mechanically the car is great but have been going to start the car 1st thing in the morning and the car will not turn over just ticks; battery is drained as clock shows --:--.

Bought the car a V70 T5 SE 2000 on a W in April this year. On collection the garage we bought from had put on a new battery. During the summer moved the car to pack it for camping and had the doors open as the roof box etc was being loaded; once done went to start the car and would not start. Had to Jump start from the wife's car.

Car was great for a few months then was at work on site during the day and it wouldn't start had to then jump start. All the way up to this car had been left open with boot lid up weeks before for the dogs to jump and out whilst on site. So do not think this is the issue.

Over the last 2 weeks not used car as much and there was at least 1/2 a tank of fuel and would not start in the morning; again jump start from the wife.

Wondering if alarm issue as locking by key worked this morning; have had Alarm system service message since I have had the car and also removed alarm siren fuse as this kept going off in the early days (reminicent of my 2001 on a Y reg S60 in 2002) so used to this siren. Some people have suggested starter motor, alternator or battery. But looking at other forums is the glovebox light a drainer on the car as all other lights go out and door appear to be locked.

Thanks in advance

Terry
