I'm told buya mechanic that the upper strut/shock mount on the drivers side REAR of my V70 is bad. Does anyone know if the spring has to be removed to access this part? Its been rattling progressively for 6 months, and it seems the strut is finally giving way itself...so I cant ignore it any longer. So far the dealer is the only place that claims to have access to the part...and the parts guys have no clue how its installed

 

fcpgroton or ebay to get the parts. You should them find a place that will take your parts to install. Often smaller shops will do it since they dont offer warrenty. Unlike major shock/strut places will not take your parts ane charge a fortune(the dealer will also charge a fortune) You may wish to repalce both sides at teh same time. The spring will need to be removed.
