V70 Running problems HELP!!!
I have had more or less the same problems for nearly 2 years and spent £1280 trying to fix it through a local non volvo garage and laterly a Volvo Dealership, noone seems capable of diagnosing or curing the problems and I am at a loose end as to what to do, actually I am getting sick and fed up with the car.
Car Details
Volvo V70 2.4T, W Reg (2000).
Current Problems
1. Trying to keep at a constant speed, the revs drop and increase of theie own accord, the car feels as if it is pulling then releasing giving a lumpy ride.
2. When taking foot off accelerator after slowing down from 60/70 for example the car feels as if it is breaking and releasing, pulling back.
3. When slowing right down at a junction or roundabout the revs sometimes stay high then drop all of a sudden.
4. When slowing right down at a roundabout for example without stopping and you gently acelerate away there can be no revs and they suddenlt kick in with a thump.
Research
I looked at loads of posts on the foroum surrounding the Throttle housing issues etc especially on my model and year and asked around.
Work Carried out
Non Volvo Garage plugged in analyser and loads of related faults came up surrounding electroning throttle module and related areas. These were rectified one at a time.
31/12/2008 Replaced Air Mass meter and reset ECU
STILL SAME PROBLEMS
09/01/2009 Replaced tempreture switch, Cleaned out inlet manifold, stripped down and cleaned throttle housing assembly and turbo hoses.
STILL SAME PROBLEMS
25/06/2009 02 sensor fitted
STILL SAME PROBLEMS
Advised to take car a a VOLVO dealer, they said only they could de-encryped the fault codes properly and said I should have had a software upgrade of the ETM?
17/07/2009 ETM upgrade
STILL SAME PROBLEMS
Volvo dealer advised new thottle housing assembly was fitted
23/11/2009 New Throtle housing assembly fitted with Gasket, ETM reload
STILL SAME PROBLEMS
Volvo dealer said throttle housing fault codes were masking an issue with Knock sensors.
25/05/2010 New Thermostat fitted and knock sensors replaced.
STILL SAME PROBLEM
