v70 Shifter Knob replacement

Default v70 Shifter **** replacement
I own a 2001 V70 with geartronic trans. The shifter **** button creacked and I need to replace it. How much does it cost and how is the **** replaced? Many thanks for your insight.

Not sure of cost for a new one but the old one pulls off. There is a clip in the top of the boot that locks to the bottom of the ****.Turn the boot and press down to unlock it. Then you can pull the **** off.

thanks, does the console have to be removed to get at the bottom of the boot. I'd check but the car is out of town on a trip with my kids.

The boot doesn't need to come out.
You turn it where the boot meets the ****.
