It depends on what you want from VADIS. I have the basic VADIS discand the wiring disc which do stop at 2005 as this was when VADIS was discontinued. I don't know where he has found the additional information, nor how good it is, but he is charging a lot of money for the 'extras.

Most UK sellers will ship to the US.

 

Many thanks. You're right, the UK ebay item is a much better deal. Doesn't include the supposed updated material, but who knows if it's legit or not.

 

if you're familiar with bit-torrents (or know a teenager (who I'm sure would be)), there is a copy of VADIS 2005 Edition A (6.7a.2775) out there for download for free.

 

another vote for ebay.uk! Received my discs last week and they work just fine...way way cheaper than the guy selling them for $89 on mainland ebay.

Anyway, just go to www.ebay.co.uk and search for VADIS Volvo. There are several sellers. The one I bought was from a seller named minkymuu. The Volvo VADIS he is listing right now is item number 380030717273. I'm very pleased with the product and service...took less than a week to ship to east coast.

The software is fully unlocked and you don't have to screw around with any system settings. There are easy to follow instructions loaded on the DVD. I've had no problems.

On the face of it the $89 offer has more but I wonder how much is 'official info' and how much is just hype to up the price. My copy of VADIS has served me well and has answered many queries on this and other forums and I only paid $4 + $2 postage.

I see that the seller of the $89 version is offering 'update notifications'. As VADIS is no longer being issued who is going to update it?

I don't think anyof the latest copies require a date/time reset as they are from the last batch of VADIS discs issued to the dealers before the new system came in.

 

I can't confirm the difference as I refuse to pay $89 for what seems to be the same thing I just got for less than $20. That guy selling for $89 is the only seller in the US, so we may be looking at a supply vs. demand price difference. More copies of VADIS are available at the UK website, so people are not willing to pay the premium.

 

Well, I went ahead and ordered from the same place you did, sporky. From the UK. I am sure that it has everything I need. Thanks to those who shared their input on my question.
