Default Volvo 2.4d goes into limp mode

Hello!

I have a Volvo with a 2.4d 163hp from 2003 which now goes into limp mode. A warning also comes up in the display with "engine service recommended" In Swedish

The first time this happened was two days ago. I accelerated quickly and when the car passed about 3500 rpm the car stopped pulling. I turned the car off to see if it would fix it and it didn't. Later that day about three hours later I start it just to check if it runs normally and then it ran fine, but only drove normally without much acceleration. Been working fine for two days until I thought I'd check if it goes into limp mode now if I accelerate fast or if it was a one time thing. But today of course it went into limp mode again today at about 3500rpm

Has anyone experienced something similar or has any tips as to what could be wrong?

Thanks in advance!
