Default Volvo accident fuel cut off?

Hi i have a 2001 V70 2.4T and had a small prang in the front, after this happened it will start and tick over, but as soon as you apply the gas it stops. It wont go over 1k revs. Is there a cut off switch anywhere? There are no warning lights on.

Forgive my ignorance, what's a "prang"?
