Default Volvo Paint

Hi,
I have a 2001 v70 T5 and I am seeing small rust spots on the car body on door, tailgate etc. wondering if anyone knows how much warranty does volvo offer to the paint?

Would appreciate if someone could reply.

Also, my volvo has been showing Engine System Service required message intermitantly these days but it stays on for couple of days and goes away. I recently replaced both O2 sensors and have all the scheduled maintenance done. Any idea? I checked the codes using a obd 2 scanner but nothing showed up. I guess, I need to take it to a dealership for that.

Default Volvo Paint

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. I called volvo customer service and I was told that the paint warranty is only 1 year. Should I check with dealership?

Regarding the paint, are you sure its tiny rust specks? The reason I'm asking is that my wife's ex-Car, a white '03 Honda Pilot seemed to develop these, too. Little tiny circular spots in this case. I first thought them to be rust, until I remembered that the plastic parts (bumper cover, light housing over the rear license plate) couldn't rust, yet they also had the same type of spots on them. Having once owned a tailgate rust-prone Mercury Sable, I was at first certain that demon rust had appeared.

If I'm wrong, this post is useless to you. But I was needlessly concerned and hope that I'm not wrong about this possibility for your Volvo. Never did find out what they were, but polishing compound removed them without leaving any trace behind.

P.S. The Pilot has 135K on it. Guess who is driving it now and who gets to drive the V 70 (06) in Ice White?
