Unhappy Weird idle

Hi again. I've got a problem with the engine idling. It just starting doing this tonight. I turned the car on, the RPM went down below 1000 to its normal idling range, and the engine started going voo voo voo voo voo voo voo voo voo voo the lights only in the interior started dimming on and off everytime the engine went voo voo voo. Turned the A/C on the RPM rose a little bit and the engine started idling fine, turned the A/C off and it went back to dimming lights and voo voo voo voo voo and one time after I turned the A/C off the engine actually shut off. Can someone help me please? Thank You.

I would try cleaning the throttle body and see if that fixes it.

On yours it is located under the intake manifold. It would be best to remove it and clean it then reinstall it. But you will need to get a new gasket. Volvo and some people say you need a special cleaner to do it. But I have been using Carb and brake clean for years to clean them.

Hey guys. I didn't do anything to the car yet. I filmed three videos. The first one shows how the engine sounds, the second shows how the lights flicker, and the third one shows how the RPM drops after giving gas. I would be very happy if anyone can view them and tell me if things are normal with this car. P.S. when it idles in park I feel like I'm having a pulsating back massage.

By the way, Tech. I found the throttle body but how can I remove it? Do I need to remove the intake manifold? And once I remove it, how should I clean it or what part of it should I clean?

Here's a video that shows cleaning.

I also worked a bit of thin synthetic oil around the shaft where it goes into the body with a Qtip. There are o-rings in there that might create drag on the shaft

That video will work for yours as well. Yours is slightly different but same thing overall.

UPDATE 6/26/2010 5:00 A.M.
Me and my father just finished working on the car. Cleaned the ETM. We've been working on it since 12:00 A.M. took us 5 hours but it was worth it, the car is idling like its brand new. Hopefully it stays this way. Thank you very much Tech and Bobec.
