2023 model compared to 2020
I recently ended the lease on my 2020 and “upgraded” to a 2023. Has anyone else made this swap and find the new model really lacking comparatively? I was in a 2020 r design and now in a 2023 ultimate. I’ve had the car 3 days and I hate it. the braking and downshifting is horribly jerky and I’m getting a terrible vibration through the seat and wheel when over 100km. Oh and the app has less functions now? Where did the driving journal go?

I have a 2023 XC40 Plus. My first Volvo, so I can't compare.
But, I have absolutely no vibration (I cruise at 79 MPH on the highway) and the downshifting feels fine compared to my Infiniti QX60.
Are you perhaps feeling the Driver Assist warning you about drifting out of the lane, or trying to change lanes without signaling?
If it;s not that, return to the dealer to check for wheel balance or other issues.

I have just changed from a XC60 MY17 Ultimate to an XC40 B5 Dark Ultimate and certainly notice the downgrading of some of the items both externally and internally. Externally there is now much more plastic and internally the quality of the carpets is pathetic to say the least, also the accessories, the floor trays and luggage compartment mat previously rubber are now thin plastic. Since Geely took over Volvo the overall quality of both the vehicles and accessories has taken a downward spiral.
Hi, I have just changed from a 2022 XC60 B5 to a 2023 XC40 Ultimate Dark. Previously I had a XC60 MY17.
I have certainly noticed the downgrading of parts of the XC40 both externally and internally when compared to my previous Volvos, the carpets are actually an embarrassment to be called carpets compared to what was in my previous Volvos and I have been buying Volvos since 1978. If Geely want to keep the brand a so called "luxury" vehicle someone in their organisation needs to get their act together and deliver a quality product. A friend has recently purchased as MG and overall it delivers better value for money than my current volvo.
