I've ordered an xc40 but it won't be delivered for a while, maybe October. In the meantime, I plan to buy an iPhone, either a small 8 or a larger 8 Plus. I'd like to get the larger one, but I want to be able to inductive-charge it on the xc40. It's dimensions are 6.28 inches by 3.07 inches, and Apple says that's too big for some cars. Will it fit mine? Any info, many thanks.

 

The charging pad is about 7.25 inches by 3.5 inches. My iPhone X fits on it with room to spare.

We have the XC40 and my wife has the 8 Plus. While it's a little snug, it does fit and I can confirm that the charging pad works with it. I just ordered a 4" cable from Amazon which I think will work pretty well.
