Hi AllI have recently purchased a XC40 19 plate (auto) with 22k miles on the clock. According to the service book it did 10k miles in the first year then 3-4k in the following years. When I bought the car the MPG was showing 38.5ish, I reset this back to 0.0. I have done around 2.5k miles mainly urban driving but very little in standing traffic. The MPG is showing an average of 35.6 and no matter how carefully I drive (in ego mode) I can’t improve on this. This seems very low to me especially when a friend with the same model is getting low 60’s (all be it a manual). The only other anomaly is the Stop/Start function is rarely available, that is to say the symbol on the dash has a line through it indicating for what ever reason the function will not kick in. I realise there are certain criteria need to be meet for this function to work but it just seems to be unavailable too often and I wondered if there was an underlying cause which may also explain the poor MPG. I have checked the battery and had it on the diagnostic and everything check out ok. Any ideas.
