I have a UK marketed 2021 XC40 T3 Auto Inscription that has the Sensus infotainment system fitted. I have booked a service with a local Volvo specialist and have asked them to check whether the software is due for an update. They are not sure whether their diagnostics cover this.
There is a local Volvo dealer who say they can do this but their hourly labour rate is very high.
My question is whether the software updates are useful for my petrol engined car? My understanding is that they are mainly targeted at electric or hybrid vehicles, so I am reluctant to pay the extra high charges for a potential update that may not be necessary.
Any advice would be appreciated.
