Looks like nobody has started posting stuff about the Volvo XC40 P8 Recharge Full Electric... This cars entertainment system is powered by Android Automotive. I'd like to use this thread to start tracking the versions that were found "in the wild" and possibly what is fixed (according to reports).

Software update available from Volvo dealers from. week 5 2021 contains:
Possibility to set up and plan preheating / cooling of the car's passenger compartment in time via time setting in the center display. This feature has previously experienced instability.
- Signal enhancements for DAB radio. Nb During the update, any favorite lists you have created with your favorite channels may be reset and this list may need to be set up again.
- Several car features such as welcome lights, folding head restraints and automatic activation and reactivation of alarms have been added. (Automatic reactivation of the alarm prevents the car from being accidentally left with the alarm deactivated.)
- All user profiles are given the option to have administrator rights.
- General improvements in the quality and stability of the 360-degree camera.
- General improvements in quality and stability for phone calls made via bluetooth.
- Optimization of the automatic function that cleans the brake discs.
- Volvo Cars' provider of internet and telecommunications services has made upgrades to its system. The upgrades will provide increased stability and better network coverage in the car.
- General stability improvements in system and software.
Alarm triggered by itself
Some customers have experienced that the alarm in the car is triggered without any specific cause. This is due to too high a sensitivity in an alarm sensor. A software solution for this bug has now been released and is available from your reseller.
Google Updates
Updates and bug fixes for Google Maps, Google Assistant and Google Play Store. The updates are made continuously via Google's own over-the-air system (OTA).
Updating cars that do not have BLIS (Blind Zone Warning)
On a limited number of cars, there is a software error that causes a safety system associated with BLIS, called Collision Avoidance, to stop working and you as a customer receive an error message about this in the car's driver display. Collision Avoidance is part of Volvo Cars' advanced driver assistance system (ADAS). Customers affected by this error have already been contacted by Volvo and this only applies to cars that do not have BLIS. The error should be resolved with a software update. Launch is scheduled for week 7.
Over-the-air updates (OTA)
During 2021, Volvo will launch Over-the-air (OTA) updates. OTA means that updates can be sent directly to the car via the internet and the car is updated automatically without you as a customer having to visit the dealer. In the future, most of our updates will be sent to the cars in this way. Launch is scheduled for the second quarter of 2021.
Launch of Volvo on Call with functionality for XC40 Recharge Pure Electric
Volvo on Call (VOC) is a mobile application that allows you to control several functions of the car via a smartphone.
Timed acclimatization via the Volvo on Call application
Possibility to plan and set up acclimatization (preheating / cooling) of the car's cabin in time via time setting in the VOC app. (For example, you can plan for the passenger compartment to be heated every morning during the winter). Planned launch in the third quarter of 2021.
Charging planning via the Volvo on Call application
Possibility to plan and set up charging of the car ahead of time via time setting in the VOC app. Planned launch in the third quarter of 2021.
Apple CarPlay / Android Auto
Functionality to use Apple CarPlay and Android Auto via connected phone. Planned launch in autumn 2021.
Driving record in the Volvo on Call application
Possible to export driving records from the VOC app. Planned launch in autumn 2021.
Charging curve for fast charging
The charging curve for fast charging is continuously optimized and Volvo Cars will optimize both charging power and charging speed in the future.
My XC40 Recharge Pure Electric doesn't start the update, although we've been driving around.
Internet connection is ok.
Is there any possibility to start the update procedure manually?

I haven't heard of anyone with an XC40 P8 (Recharge Pure Electric) receiving an OTA update yet. If it's the same as Tesla, it will be Volvo that decides when to release OTA. They then add certain VIN number ranges to the release list. This is done in batches, so you never exactly know when it's your turn...
I have been flicking the Software Update toggle too every time I get in the car, hoping it would trigger something. Nothing so far...

I haven't received mine either. Have you received yours yet?

Yes, I had it done at the dealer.
The only obvious new feature is that our iPhones (12pro) are being charged on the mat
Sorry, the screen is quite dirty...

According to a newsletter we received yesterday the update is rolled out in stages / batches (probably based on VIN). You should receive an e-mail when it will be sent to your car and after that the update should be notified automatically.

Thanks, finally some sign of life on the OTA.
Now wondering if the On Call App is going to be enabled soon…
B.t.w. does anyone know if there is a way to report software bugs found in the updates?
In my case, the automatic profile switching (based on key) has stopped working, worked well before the update.
Additionally I noticed that the "Pilot Assist" feature apparently doesn't recognize that I am holding the steering wheel, and gives a warning and starts slowing down the vehicle...
