Default 12V Charge Error

Hey all - I have a 2019 XC60 T5, have had it about 4 months. Today after I went to the grocery store, I received the following error:

12V Battery Charging Fault
Stop Safely

Any ideas? Of course I call the dealership tomorrow as I have to travel for work starting Tuesday and must have my car. Is a new error for me.

Thanks

Probably the alternator or a fuse from the charging system to the battery. The car CAN run off of the battery for awhile, but will eventually stop when the battery voltage gets too low to keep the car running.

Older cars with a distributor can run longer as it will still produce spark at lower voltages. I think newer cars will stop once a predetermined voltage is reached. maybe 12VDC flat or like 11.5VDC.

Once the dealer is done with it, please post what fixed this as a lot of forums I am apart of, once the problem has been resolved, the poster forgets to post the repair..

I definitely will post the outcome. I took the car in yesterday around 8am. They didn't figure it out yesterday and I have not heard from them today as of yet (1:50 pm EST)

Dealer said "insufficient software, upgraded complete software/CANS"

They also had a recall on the rear liftgate hydraulics

This turned out to be a EV emissions error / hose replacement. Hose had to be ordered and won't be in until next week. So this is my 5th time in in less than 5 months. Service manager said it was "normal". I hope that isn't true. Really starting to question long-term reliability.
