Are you guys ready for this? I have a 2010 Volvo XC60 and it won't start. I press the start button and nothing. I get the following error messages:
1. DSTC Service Required.
2. City Safety Service Required.
I cant remove the key. It tells me to put the vehicle in park but it is. There is also a buzzing sound coming from the fuze box under the hood. I think its a relay because its not listed on the fuze diagram. I can pull the relay out and it stops buzzing. It only buzzes for a few seconds when you open the door or press the start button.
Is there some super secret method to reset everything so I can start the car and get it to the shop?

My XC 60 (keyless) didn't want to start. It made a few electrical noises, loads of warning messages/lights. A few electrical items worked such as air blower/radio but no electrical boot operation or central locking.
The long and short of it was just flat battery, Greenflag came out and jump started it, checked it out (alternators/loads etc) and all was fine.
I think I knocked the light switch with my knee when I got out (on to side light position), left it over night and killed it. I did think the car would disconnect loads automatically when the battery was being drained, but no.
I was concerned for my bank account when I saw all of the alarms as the warranty only expired 2 months ago!

Similar problem. 2010, XC60, 62k miles. When I tried to start it, it chimed six times, flashed the headlights, and dashboard lit up like a christmas tree. Then the DSTC message popped up and the message to put the car in Park. It was already in park.
I called road side assistance and they were sending a tow truck, then I stumbled on this forum (thanks!!). A neighbor was able to give me a jump start and I'm back in business.
Thanks Volvo Forum... but for all the messages and chimes and flashing couldn't the screen just say "Low Battery" ? Gees!
