2016 xc60 setting seat memory
Purchased a used xc60 (2016) 3 weeks ago from a Volvo dealer. Slowly learning the basics of all of the controls it was time to set drivers seat memory positions using the button controls. Quick manual says " press and hold "M" button and press the"#" button to set. No go. nothing in the owners manual, go to down loaded print manual, same directions as quick manual. Go to on board computer manual, no difference in directions. try multiple times, still no go.
Call dealer, finally after a few min conversation involving 2 service advisors, the suggestion is push "M" and"#" at the same time. chime rings and dash info center says "seat position set" all is good and it works.
Has anyone else had this issue, why are the manuals wrong? Do I have the wrong manuals?

I always assume on memory seat settings in any car that the buttons must be held for at least 2-5 seconds before the setting is enabled. Sometimes even a few second longer. I then test to see if it works. I have sometimes had to do it 2-3 times.
In my experience this is not unusual for any car.

Hi, newbie here, and recent - and happy! - owner of a 2018 XC60.
Here’s what you do - place the key fob in the cup holder on top of the key icon. Set up a driver profile on the screen. Once your seat & mirrors are set, press M, then press 1 (or 2, obviously!). Then edit your driver profile and save it.
This also works if you want to turn the stop/start function off. Turn it off first and then edit & save your driver profile.
