2017 Trailer Hitch and 7-Way harness installation
Has anyone on here installed a trailer hitch and a 7-way rv plug on their XC60?
I’m looking at etrailer and found a trailer hitch. The only 7-way harness I found that appears to work is the one with the 4-pin connector and 3 extra wires for connection to battery and brake controller.
I believe my best option for installing the 7-way rv plug is to purchase a 4-pin kit, them add the 7-way plug to it. Where did you get power connections for the 7-way plug? What is the best approach for installing a 7-way plug?
As far as brake controller, I have narrowed it down to 2 options, the basic one for around $80, or the Curt Echo Bluetooth.
We don’t want to cut into any part of the dash to install a ****.
Has anyone ever installed the Curt Echo controller? It looks pretty straight forward.
Reason for wanting to do this is we have a 6x10 utility trailer rated at 3,000lbs. We don’t think we will have it anywhere close to that weight, but wanted to add trailer brakes to it and make it safer for towing with our Volvo.
Thanks.

Hitch, wiring and brake controller 2017 xc60
I had the hitch and wiring installed last year for my 2017 xc60 r design to tow my Jayco 16xrb hybrid camper. It weights about 3000lbs. Use the echo brake controller and it works great! Good luck!
