Angry 2017 xc60 t6 inscription-limp mode at 66000 miles

Hello looking how to get this fixed.
100 miles from nearest dealer.
was told this is the only method of fixing for it needs to have software update as well.
no way i can drive this to dealer.
i am sure it is the ETM gone bad.
$250.00 towing charge.
do not have warranty.
This is the truth, now how can i salvage this situation?
Thank you.

Thank you mt6137
yes i have :
P0302
P0304
P0300
Theses all have to do with misfires in many different cylinders
tried to cancel error codes and they will not go away. really need to fix the problem then they will go away.
do you know what the fixes might be/
My research says it is the Electronic Throttle module.
Might it be something else?
Thank you.

most common cause of misfires are spark plugs/coils (coils are not likely since you are getting more than one cylinder), fuel trim (intake air leaks, dirty MAF, fuel pressure, temp sensor, front O2 sensor are more common than a failed ETM) or compression (bad rings, recent overheat leading to head gasket issues). I'd start with the simple and note if your plugs are original, insert new OEM (they are due at 60K miles), then I'd check for intake air leaks, measure fuel pressure, test compression etc. Check with Xemodex - they should have a diagnostics flow chart for ETM issues but that problem is more common in older models.

Yes i will be doing CRC Mass air flow and Throttle body Sprays today.
Pray this helps me so i can get to Dealership for i am way behind on getting my Software update.
and also get the error codes off of dash.

Well, Update.
Finished ,Mass Air Flow in 30 Minutes.
Took me Five Hours just to get The Upper Charger Intercooler Upper Hose off the Throttle Body.
Messed it up, will have to buy another.
I tried to get instructions about removal/install for my 2017 xc60 t6.
Never got it, just lots of videos on other late model volvos.
So i winged it, and yes it was too hard.
I was even told in other videos this cleaning should be done with every filter change.
not me. too hard and too long.
will get part ordered and finish taking throttle body off tomorrow.
i think next time if i do this again will be to take off plastic intake manifold and can get better access to throttle body and upper charge hose.
more update later.

dunno about your model's specifics - why the interest in removing the intake manifold?

meant to do a complete throttle body spray and clean
i tried to separate the throttle body from intake manifold
i failed for it is upside down and cannot get my hands and tools to remove four bolts
If I take intake manifold off then I can flip it over and get access to bolts
i am doing the check list you gave me
thank you for asking

I'm sorry - I don't really want to rain on your parade - but a throttle cleaning is not going to solve your problem. You have miss-fire codes - those won't be created from a dirty throttle module. Throttle modules after about 2001 have become very reliable -

Correct compression, ignition and the correct amount of fuel prevents miss-fires. Some of those parameters are difficult to determine on these new direct injection engines in a DIY setting with a basic OBD free scanner.

Good luck. (and I mean that sincerely)

Thank you hoonk.Yes you are right.
I have a actron 9690 scanner. $130.00 just does not help me.
I now understand i really need the $3000 to $5000 scanner to do the deep dives to get my action plan for repair.
Cannot seem to have enough money to really get what i need.
and that includes OM and OEM parts to buy.
Have had too many problems buying Chinese aftermarket parts.
So what i will do next is recheck spark plugs and do a coil test.
Update at a later time.
Thank you Hoonk

I am a very happy man.
All this talk and concern was not justified.
Took out spark plugs and yes one was a leaning tower of Pizza.
The electrode was way deep inside plug.
Bought Volvo Plugs from FCP EURO.
Waited a week, put new ones in this morning.22 foot pounds torq.
Started up fast.
Went for test drive.
It was so excellent and this xc60 really moves fast. Wow.
Cleared all codes.
Another fast test drive.
No codes anywhere,
That is how you fix a limp mode.
Thank you for Support
Good Day.
Limbo Time.
