2019 Volvo xc60
When driving the wind noise sometimes really bothers me when going 50miles or more, also the winter tire noise seems excessive when compared to volkswagen tiguan, that also has winter tires but at higher speeds has much better sound deadening, I have not test driven other volvos at high speeds, but I certainly excpect same or better insulation than tiguan at this price point. Any people here have any experience regarding road noise with new volvo lineup?
Sorry for late reply(been busy
)
So as of now I have been riding with summer tires(19inch, they are at 230kpa) and I have been doing a lot of measuring. At speeds of 50-60mph I have gotten 75-80db depending on tarmac(used multiple phones and apps for measuring to get estimated range of noise). At the front I have plastic wheel wells, maybe its reasonable to change them for carpeted ones due to better insulation. The main reason is It is really hard to enjoy the music while driving so I have to turn it up more than I would like to. Any advice on this topic?

I'm out of ideas. Some tires make more noise than others. If you still have OEM tires on, Pirelli's, then they are the same as I have. What tires did you have on the VW? The only sound I hear is from the engine compartment, which I like! Not sure different wheel well covering would make a difference.
On xc60 I have Michelin latitude sport 3 and Tiguan has ContiEcoContact 5, btw are your xc60´s front wheel wells from plastic or carpet(maybe they changed them to carpet on front with newer models, I have plastic on front). Because noise is only coming from front wheel wells not back ones. Also if you have time could you download some decibel measuring app on your phone and measure at speeds of 50-60mph, I just would like to get rough estimate of what your cabin noise is compared to mine. Thanks in advance.
you didn't say how many miles are on the tires and what tires you are running. Check out Tirerack.com to see how their testing compares brands. Also note that if your tires have over 10K miles, there a possibility they are starting to wear enough to cup and make noise - particularly if your wheels have gone out of alignment (or were never dead center aligned to begin with). Has the car been aligned recently (or ever checked?)
Tires are Michelin latitude sport 3(20inch not 19 as I mentioned above, typo). I looked on various sites and overall people seemed to be quite alright with this tire(for example: https://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/M...de-Sport-3.htm). Right now these tires have 20K miles. Alignment was done when I had them installed at dealership. Tires on close inspection seem to be totally okay, no outer wear or anything unusual. So I just did a test where I first took my xc60 on the stretch of road(consistenly 50mph) and then right after 2014 Seat Leon(50 mph again) and Leon felt more quieter and also the app I had in phone showed less decibels(around 4db less than xc60). I excpected(in this price range)Volvo to be way more quieter regardless of tires, now Im really bummed out. Also sorry for my english, not native english speaker.
Oh and As I mentioned above only the front tires are making the excessive noise, also I always kept all the rubber seals clean(checked them also)!
