2022 XC60 CarPlay - Software 2.5
Has anyone upgraded to 2.5 software on their 2022 XC60? I see that it is theoretically available but I haven't gotten the OTA notification on my car yet.
The release notes talk about CarPlay improvements but I don't see any detail as to what they may be. Anyone have a chance to try it out and can report back?
In particular, curious about:
- Wireless CarPlay support (or compatibility with the wide range of after-market adapters that plug into the car's USB to create a wireless connection for CarPlay) - I'm guessing that native wireless support might not happen but hopefully the adapters will at least start working
- Incoming call info in instrument display and steering wheel call answer/hangup (this is a MUST)
- CarPlay navigation displayed on instrument panel and/or HUD (this would be a great improvement, although the native Google Maps in the car is one of the few things about the AAOS platform that I really like)
TIA!

CarPlay take over your display screen and mirrors your phone, more of less. It is not actually integrated with the car like AAOS is. Very unlikely that CarPlay info, in its current form, will be displayed anywhere outside of CarPlay app. AAOS, for all its problems is much more integrated with the car. That said, any information on wireless adapters that work with Volvos running AAOS would be appreciated.

Regarding call info on the dash and the ability to answer/hang up calls from the steering wheel controls, this has been standard in virtually all cars that have built-in CarPlay for years - including pre-AAOS Volvos. The voice control button DOES trigger Siri; so the fact that it doesn't answer/hangup calls when using CarPlay is, again, a Volvo software issue.
HOPEFULLY these will be resolved in the coming releases.
