Bought a new XC60 plug in hybrid in July, does not come with a spare, am guessing the batteries don't allow storage in the rear compartment area. This is OK for around town, but on a long trip (in the middle of nowhere) getting a flat could result in hours wasted.
I would preer not to run "run flat" tires as I've heard the ride is rough. I wouldn't keeping a spare in the rear compartment area for log trips, I'm wondeing if anyone does this and would a small "donut" type of spare work on this vehicle...
There are a bunch of threads on Swedespeed relating to that - just search for spare tire.
The spare tire from a non plug-in xc60 works just fine. Modern spare is aftermarket solution. Volvo sells a kit and I've seen a volvo kit in a vinyl bag with tie down straps somewhere.
