Question Accessing Beneath Center Console

My wife has a 2018 XC60. She put her credit card on top of the front sliding cover on the center console, in front of the transmission lever. The card slid forward, off the cover and down into the console. I can pull back on the side panel on the drivers side and reach in somewhat but am afraid to pull too hard since I don't know how its attached and don't want to break a clip.

Anyone had to open up the console area to access underneath?

Take the lower side panel off on the passenger side - it just pops off. And if a clip breaks many cost just a few dollars !

I tried both sides. No can do.
My 2018 xc60 has 2 attachment points on these side panels (both driver and passenger side). The front ones do NOT move (pop out).
The rear ones do pop out VERY easily.
Any advice would be appreciated. A small video would be appreciated even more 😂😍🙏.
Happy 2022 to all.

There are 2 clips.
The rear on pops out VERY easily.
The front clip stays locked in.
I can not get it to move. If a solution is found please let us know.

Sorry, I didn't see this question. I think we did. It's been so long I've forgotten, but I think it was due for a dealer service at the time and I just let them do it. They were nice about it and didn't charge us. Probably not the first time they've had it happen.

Sorry, I'm no help beyond taking it to the dealer or trying to remove the passenger side panel like was mentioned above.

hi jmr94
thanks for replying.
Following the guidance here in the forum, I was able to pull the side panels out (from bottom to up) and retrieve the drivers license. Took me less than 5 minutes. All the clips were good and I was able to put the panels back nice and flush.
saved me a trip to the dealer :-)
thanks all

Can you explain further? Is a big part and I'm scared to break it.
Thanks

I thought I'd replied but I guess not. We ended up letting the dealer take care of it while the car was in for an oil change. They did it for free.

I had exactly the same problem with a driving licence. Thanks to the forum, I managed to pull out the passenger side panel (the carpeted bit, not the plastic bit at the top) and reached up inside. The licence couldn't be seen from underneath as it was sitting on top of a flat area where the lid slides in. However I could get my fingers over the top and feel it. I then managed to pull it out. Thanks everyone who contributed.

Did anyone have any luck getting the quarter out of the middle console? I took off both side panels but I cannot access the area where the coin is located. Took it to the dealership and they quoted me $900 to get the coin out!!!! That's ridiculous. If someone was able to get a coin out of a volvo xc90 2019 please help me out!!!! I'm going crazy listening to that coin roll all over every time I turn a corner.

I have a 2019 xc60 T5 inscription and have lost two parking cards. Didn't want to have pay for a replacement card or go to dealership and read the forum. On the passenger side front side where the cargo pocket

netting is, i was able to grab underneath and gently pop of out that panel section and shimming down the panel and pop out the remainder of the panel. I was able to get my whole had in and remove one of the card sitting the top where the push panel slides in and out, and the other parking card i lost was at the bottom in the console compartment all the way toward towards the engine.

Default Easy access to lost credit card in 2025 XC-60 center console

My wife set her credit card on her center console and it slid forward and disappeared when she came to a stop at a stop sign. I accessed the card in the same manner as those above. Slide the passenger seat all the way back. The carpeted center console passenger side cover is held in place by 4 clips. I pried out on the front of the side cover and reached in close to the clip and pulled outward and the first clip came undone. A little more outward pressure and the second clip in the middle of the panel came undone. Then the panel just came out of the 2 rear clips. I reached up under the console and found the credit card. Then I put the panel back in place by putting the two rear clips into place and then pushing in on the panel at the locations of the 4 clips until they all popped into place.
